If you were in New York on June 4th you probably experienced a Mars like atmosphere. Smokey smell in the air, as if you're at a BBQ. But the most unusual part about the day was the red sky.  I've lived in New Nork for over 25 years and never experienced anything like it. I heard people on TV say that this happens sometimes because of occasional fires in Canada, but personally I never experienced it. Like everyone I stayed indoors, kept my windows closed and watched my phone for changes to air quality number.
